A full day of fun and entertainment is planned in Paton Saturday, June 7, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the town’s founding.
The day begins with a 5K run/walk at 8 pm and donuts and fruit in the park. A parade will step off at 10 am, followed by children’s activities from 11 am to 2 pm, also at the park. A petting zoo, cartoon characters, Zounds the Clown, face painting and arts/crafts will assure the younger set has plenty to do.
The Paton alumni banquet will take place from 11:30 am to 2 pm at 209 Main. Paton alumnus Loren Shriver will give a presentation.
A car show is slated from 11 am to 3 pm. Food vendors, a bags tournament, a volleyball tournament and a pickleball tournament will be held from 11 am to 4 pm.

The time capsule will be opened at 3 pm. Paton memorabilia will be on display in the community room.
Other activities include inflatables from 12-2:30 pm; bingo from 1:30 – 3pm; and a pedal tractor pull from 2 to 3 pm.
Supper catered by 209 Main will be served from 4 to 6:30 pm. Dueling Pianos will perform from 4:30 to 7 pm, followed by a free street dance with music by Lost Wax.
Several food trucks will be there for the day. All are invited to attend.
